The four finals.

  1. All four videos stick to what the brief has asked,
and all communicate the word manipulate well. I like the idea for the first video, but I think the movement could be more fluid like in the third video. The third one shows manipulation at a very subtle level. The strings in the second video I really enjoyed, the physical manipulation interested me most. The fourth video I found quite confusing to begin with, and then it made more sense towards the end.
All together a good set :)

  2. Video 01:

Overall I think you are tackling a very hard theme as it is so vague and encapsulates a lot of areas. With that said, your first video in my opinion is one of the strongest as this relates to me in the sense of what 'Manipulate' should be. The only weakness is that I would agree with Emma in relation to the fluidity of the movement. I'd also like to see you experiment with camera angles with this, just because I know it'd look awesome!

    Video 02:

The way in which the red string loops around the letters looks very realistic and the overall concept is very strong given your stimulus. However, I would again like to see a more fluid sequence if it is possible just to add that extra touch of professionalism!

    Video 03:

Not sure if you have uploaded the wrong link or if my browser is just messing about, but this just appears to be 5 seconds of static imagery? Let me know when it is resolved and I will comment.

    Video 04:

I have to say this video confuses me a little in terms of the concept relating to the word Manipulate. I think the letter forms themselves as notably different at the finish, but I think the journey of it all gets lost with the movement and jumbling up throughout the time frame. The idea is definitely in there but I think it could be resolved better. In my opinion, focus on fewer aspects of 'manipulation' but exploit them in more obvious and deliberate ways.
