How magazine - Possible final poster
Possible final.
Went for a more simple approach. Made the images from the covers the letters. I'm not sure if it's too simple. Maybe a little too much white space?
I'm quite happy with it like that though. It gets straight to the point I think.

How magazine - More poster experiments
Using the covers I put a collage together to act as a background for the poster.
I like it, but there's just too much going on.

I quite like the structure to this one but I think it looks a little unbalanced with the images at the top. It needs something to weight it down.
Squircle typeface posters.
Apparently a rounded square is called a squircle, since I based this typeface on one I thought thats what I would name it.

How magazine - Mock up
Just a digital mock up of where i'm at with the How magazine.
Mainly just wanted to see how the spreads are working with the cover. I'm not sure they're relating well at the minute. I prefer the look of the spreads to the cover so I'm going to develop it based on that.
Really happy with the spreads, the layouts seems to be working well. I just need to show how it cam be adapted with different images and amount of text etc.
Need to make quick decisions and finish this as soon as I can. As soon as I have the front cover layout finished, I can really quickly put together the rest of the issues. I don't think i'm going to need as many as I thought I would, the idea would come across after a couple. However, I would like to mock them all up and show how they would work as a set.

I really like the idea of bringing the typeface through the spreads as a way to keep the identity running through, however, I'm not sure if it's legible enough to do so.
At first, I liked the idea of it being something that wasn't completely legible but was obvious what it was when you knew what it said. This isn't something that would work when using it for article titles though.
