Leeds College of Art is one of the most exciting colleges for art, design and the crafts in the country. They are small and friendly enough to offer a uniquely focussed learning experience.

Having been around for the last 160 years, they need bringing up to date.

Concept/Proposition
Create a modern solution that will be relevant to both fine art & graphic design students.

How can it be made suitable for all art students including designers and photographers?
Although for students, how will it be seen from a professional point of view?

LCA Exhibition

The Brief
Jason Munn has an upcoming exhibition at the Leeds College of Art.

Design an identity for the exhibition and apply this to leaflets, posters and signage.

Background
California based graphic designer Jason Munn started The Small Stakes in 2003 and it has since become a successful independent design studio, producing nationally and internationally commissioned work in a range of print materials, including book covers, album packaging, t-shirt designs, screen-printed posters, and illustrations.

Jason’s work has appeared in magazines such as Print, Communication Arts, Computer Arts Projects and Creative Review as well as being in the permanent collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. This small display of Jason’s posters demonstrates his unique and instantly recognisable style.

Design the logo, cover and 3 page spreads for the designer’s magazine, HOW.

Background
Founded in 1985, HOW Magazine provides graphic-design professionals with essential business information, covers new technology and processes, profiles renowned and up-and-coming designers, details noteworthy projects, and provides creative inspiration.

HOW Magazine is now accepting entries in it’s annual Logo Design Awards. It doesn’t matter if your logo was created for yourself, for work or just for fun…we want to see what you can do! So take this wide-open media and run with it.
